As highlighted in the 2024 ESG Report, TCL Electronics continues to embed sustainability across its business strategy and product ecosystem. This includes improving environmental performance, integrating responsible governance practices, and supporting more circular, inclusive, and energy-efficient design.

Group Level Commitments
In 2024, TCL conducted its first dual materiality assessment, reinforcing transparency and alignment with stakeholder expectations. The group-level ESG Report was also prepared using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard, reflecting TCL’s commitment to recognized sustainability reporting frameworks. That same year, TCL formally joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

At the business unit level, TCL Electronics (core business)—the parent entity for televisions, mobile and other consumer electronics—was awarded a B rating from CDP, reflecting active climate management and environmental accountability. Meanwhile, TCL Communication received a Gold Medal from EcoVadis, placing in the top 2% of assessed enterprises globally, with an advanced rating in carbon management.

Power-Saving Design

To optimize energy usage, TCL's 5G mobile phones include a Smart Manager with three power-saving modes and Smart Charging.
Green Manufacturing
TCL is building a green manufacturing ecosystem using certified materials, energy-saving production lines, use of photovoltaic power, and innovative organizational strategies to create eco-friendly products.

Water Resource Management
TCL Communication works to improve water-saving efficiency through management improvements and technical transformations. TCL has also introduced regulations for preventing and controlling waste pollution to promote recycling.

From concept to market, TCL's Quality Management Manual and PIM Process ensure that product quality is maintained through a "prevention first" spirit.
ECODESIGN & ENERGY LABEL COMPLIANCE
As of June 2025, TCL products placed on the European Union market are subject to new Ecodesign and energy labelling regulations under Regulation (EU) 2023/1670. These requirements ensure that consumers receive clear and comparable information on energy use, battery durability, repairability, and environmental impact.

TCL has proactively aligned its product development with these new standards, including clear energy labeling, transparent documentation of product lifespans, and continued use of recyclable components and packaging.

For products placed on the EU market before 20 June 2025, TCL ensures full documentation and customs compliance, safeguarding their legal circulation under the former regime.

TCL is also proactively preparing for the upcoming Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements, with initial implementation tests anticipated to begin in 2025, supporting future product traceability and circularity.

TCL’s continued progress in environmental, social and governance performance
TCL has once again been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Rating, recognizing the company’s continued progress in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. The latest assessment places TCL in the top 5% of companies evaluated globally, reinforcing its long-term commitment to responsible innovation and sustainable business practices.

TCL has participated in the EcoVadis evaluation process for almost a decade, achieving an overall score of 79 in the latest EcoVadis assessment. This reflects the continued strengthening of TCL’s ESG policies, governance frameworks, and sustainability reporting practices. The company received an Environmental Score of 85/100, including strong performances across several environmental policy and action categories, highlighting TCL’s focus on responsible manufacturing, energy efficiency, and technology-driven product development.

The EcoVadis Gold recognition reflects the sustainability performance of TCL’s mobile product lines, underscoring TCL’s continued commitment to responsible innovation and transparent ESG practices.
